Friday May 30th -- It's been so long since I updated this page that I'm just going to start here. Made a dive this morning at Folly. Beautiful day. There were four other divers already gearing up when I pulled into the lot. Went in and out along the right side. Lots of Flabellina pellucida and Cadlina laevis nudibranchs all around. Not much fish life. Spent some time around the center of the cove and then headed in. Nice way to start the weekend. BT 64 minutes, temp 50 degrees, depth 24 feet, vis 15 feet.

Wednesday June 4th -- Made a dive this morning at Lane's Cove in Gloucester. Gray, rainy day but water was flat calm. Found most of the usual suspects nudibranch-wise, plus a large lumpfish that wasn't guarding eggs but did seem to have a nest-area staked out, a small school of stripers and a sculpin that seemed to be blind or at least close to it hiding in the seaweed. Not a bad dive. BT 57 minutes, temp 50 degrees, depth 37 feet, vis 15 feet.

Sunday June 8th -- Very hot day. Drove up to Back Beach in Rockport this morning with the family. Planned to make a couple of dives with my man Noe and then spend the rest of the day hanging on the beach with assorted wives and kids. Couldn't find any parking spots, though, so we dropped them off and headed to Folly. Went out along the left wall. Vis was great and with the sunlight streaming down thru the shallows, the topography was stunning. Lots of little guys -- grubbies, juvenile sculpins, rock gunnels, along with a fair number of good-sized stripers. Excellent dive. Drove back to Back Beach and spent the rest of the afternoon trying to stay cool on the beach. BT 75 min, temp 52 degrees, depth 37 feet, vis 30 feet.

Wednesday June 25th -- Made a couple of dives at Lane's Cove in Gloucester. A fair amount of stripers and lobsters, but other than not, not much to see. There seems to be less life than usual for this time of year. BTs 74 min and 58 min, temp 53 degrees, vis 12 feet, depths 33 and 35 feet.

Thursday June 26th -- Made a couple of dives at Folly Cove. Planned to head out along the left wall and then hang around the middle section but vis was so bad that kept going out to the point. Water temp dropped quite a bit, from 63 degrees to 50 degrees, but vis increased from less than 10 to about 25. Spent most of the dive hovering about 20 feet above the bottom, just taking in the scene below. Lots of lobster, cunner, striper and the occasional northern red. Had such a good time that I came up and went back out again, this time heading straight out to the point rather than hanging around the middle. Spent more time higher up on the slope of the point. Hundreds, if not thousands, of cunner here. Two very nice dives. BTs 68 and 81 mins, temp 50 degrees, vis ranged from 10 to 25 feet, depths 56 and 53 feet.
