When it comes to diving in the northeast, how efficiently a fin moves you through the water is important but it's not the only issue: how easy are they to put on or take off in the water during shore dives, how easily can you get them on or off on a crowded dive boat wearing a full wetsuit or drysuit, and will you be able to get up the ladder of a dive boat in them (no, you shouldn't take off your fins in the water when diving from a boat). These are all questions to be answered because if your fins mess you up on any of these points, they will screw up your dive. We also look at how durable they are and whether they'll fit over a hard-soled boot for those of you who dive dry.
